WCAG Image Checker does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. All analysis happens locally in your browser.

What the extension does

When you click the extension icon or the scan button, the extension reads the image elements on the page you are currently viewing. It checks each image’s alt attribute against accessibility rules and displays the results in the side panel.

What data is accessed

The extension reads only:

• Image elements and their alt attributes on the page you scan
• The domain of the page you are scanning, in order to request permission for that site

What happens to that data

Nothing leaves your browser. The extension:

• Does not send data to any server
• Does not use analytics or tracking
• Does not store scan results after you close the panel or navigate away
• Does not use cookies
• Contains no third-party code or libraries

Permissions

The extension requests permission for a site only when you ask it to scan that site. Permission is requested per domain and can be revoked at any time in Chrome’s extension settings.
